We found Milla and Melinda online, so the interview was really our first connection point. They discussed their experience and how they work with clients. We really appreciated that they came with questions about what we’re looking for, so we could determine if it was a good fit. They both are incredibly well experienced and made us feel comfortable from the start.
The sessions leading up to birth allowed us to feel prepared and confident going into birth. Having the opportunity to learn various positions, talk through birth preferences, and have hands-on discussions about prepping for life with a new baby were so valuable. They go above and beyond to make you feel like you’re on the same team. They were very responsive to texts and calls leading up to baby's arrival, helping to answer questions and provide their perspective after doctor apts and when evaluating interventions and potential induction options. No communication was too minor, no time of day was too inconvenient. They were there for us when we needed them. Finally, the two meetings with us after the birth were very supportive and practical. They provided guidance on challenges we were facing with breastfeeding and sleep.
We were hoping to have as unmediated of a birth as possible and they played such a huge role in us being able to achieve that. Melinda attended our birth and provided guidance in positions to progress labor, was a helpful liaison between the medical staff and us, and was a calming presence that made us feel confident and secure. We couldn’t envision going through this experience without their support!
