I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have had Dana as my birth doula during one of the most challenging experiences of my life. My labor lasted an exhausting 30 hours with 4 hours of pushing. I was determined to have an unmedicated experience. Dana was my guiding light through it all.
From the moment she arrived, I felt a profound sense of safety and support. With her extensive toolkit of hip squeezes/shakes, the TENS unit, essential oils, and many more, she helped me navigate the intense contractions with grace and strength. Alongside my husband, Dana created an environment where I felt truly seen and heard. She advocated for my wishes, ensuring that my preferences were respected throughout the process.
After laboring unmedicated for what felt like an eternity, I found myself overwhelmed and ultimately decided to ask for an epidural. I was emotional and felt as though I was letting myself down by not sticking to my original plan. But Dana was there, offering the reassurance and comfort I needed to cope with my decision. In that moment, her support made all the difference, and I’m so thankful I opted for the epidural since it gave me the energy I needed to push out my baby.
Dana's presence was a constant source of encouragement. Whenever I felt discouraged or wanted to give up, she knew exactly what to say and do to lift my spirits. Her nurturing energy and kind words were so comforting during some of my toughest moments. My baby was born at 2am and she even stayed for several hours to ensure I was settled into the postpartum unit.
