Testimonial for Katie Rowe
Recently Katie helped my husband and I with the birth of our second baby. She was part of our first child's birth, and it was a wonderful experience, so we asked her to help us again. It was the best decision!!
Katie came to our house when I started having regular contractions, and stayed with us through the whole long day of early labor. She suggested positions and movements to help, and encouraged us not to be discouraged by the slow progress.
In the evening my contractions slowed down, so she went home and we all got a few hours of sleep. She came back early in the morning when things picked up again, and we went to the birthing center. She helped us all morning as I continued to labor, and when things weren't progressing, suggested we ask our friends and family for prayer. Katie has such a calming presence that helped greatly as we began to get worried and discouraged.
Finally around noon, the midwife was able to break my water, and then everything became extremely intense and moved very fast. I don't know how we would have managed without her! We all rejoiced when our perfect, healthy baby girl was born!!
Later that week, Katie came to visit me at home. It was helpful to talk through the birth with her and process everything that had happened. She gave me a timeline of the labor and birth, from notes she took through it all, which is a special memory to keep.
I highly recommend Katie, whether you're having your first baby or a second or more!! My husband and I don't plan to ever give birth without her!
