Our birth and fourth trimester experience was a success thanks to Liza. From the first meeting, her calm and curious manner appealed to us as new parents. Throughout our time with her, she never told us what to do, but instead gave us evidence- and experienced-based options for everything from fundal massages (please Google these because I had never heard of them before) to newborn diapering. I could feel the genuine care and respect that she has for me and for my baby. She was so gentle with him and so excited for every milestone he had. He always stayed relaxed and happy in her presence, even when he wasn't always in our own. (Our first time bathing him vs Liza's first time bathing him were very different experiences!) Additionally, Liza's postpartum mom support really made a difference in my recovery. She was there to help with laundry and thoughtful advice, to listen to my birth story as I processed it, and to provide both belly massage and binding as I worked to put my body back together after nine months of pregnancy and childbirth. I haven't come across any other doulas who do this work, and it was one of the reasons we wanted to partner with Liza. It was better than we even hoped! She is a special person to invite into your experience and we couldn't recommender her more.
