Testimonial for Deep Well Doulas- Brana and Dawn
Words cannot do justice to how meaningful Dawn and Brana have been in my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. When we interviewed, I felt seen and understood in a completely different way than with other doulas. Each with their own style, they bring a depth of emotional intelligence, love, and wisdom well beyond the ordinary. This was a transformational resource as someone with a complex family history, with no mother, sisters, or aunts to guide me through motherhood. Throughout pregnancy, Dawn and Brana were extremely responsive by text and phone. We had many conversations as I drew closer to my due date. In particular, I remember a call with Brana where we accepted and processed my fears about an emergency C-section, and a call with Dawn that made me feel empowered in my ability to have my baby at home.
Brana attended my home birth, and I cannot speak highly enough of her skills. She kept in close touch by phone while I was in earlier stages of my 3 day labor. She came to my home immediately when I realized I needed her. She worked effectively with my husband and midwife, navigating communications with ease. I trusted her fully in this vulnerable and challenging moment. She struck the perfect balance between following my lead and providing gentle guidance. She helped with breastfeeding and clean up, and continued to support us through the ups and down of early newborn care.
I am approaching 1 year since I gave birth, yet Brana and Dawn continue to check in on me, respond immediately, and help with troubleshooting things like sleeping and breastfeeding. This is truly an UNBELIEVABLE level of service and care! I have since moved to another state, but would readily pay a premium price to have Dawn & Brana on my team for future births. This is truly their calling. The other families in their client ecosystem have also been wonderful to connect with.
