Shannon is a very close friend and recently I had the privilege of having her as my doula for my third baby. Despite it being my third birthing experience, I was feeling very apprehensive about going into labor. My last birth was six years prior to this one and I was worried about having less stamina given that I was a bit older. I also wasn’t sure whether I had remembered all the birthing information from books and classes I had taken with my first two children. I also threw out my back two days before labor started and I couldn’t move at all without feeling extreme pain in my back. I trusted Shannon as one of my best friends to support me during the birth. But I had never known Shannon in the capacity of a doula. She blew me away with all the knowledge she had about the labor and all the tools and approaches she offered to help ease my labor and delivery. She assuaged my fears and made my body feel at ease which I think were critical for me to progress in my labor and towards a natural delivery. She was so calm and so supportive the whole birth and was with me at every point meeting my physical, mental and spiritual needs. She truly has a gift! As a friend I’m incredibly proud of her and as a client I’m extremely grateful to her and highly recommend her!
