Raizel helped facilitate the most positive birthing experience possible! She knows the hospitals in the area increadibly well, advocated for me, and provided great, empowering guidence through the entire experience. When I went into labor, she came in the middle of the night to our house and helped me breathe through the pain to get into the car and then again at the hospital to get to the OB ward. She gave great advice in terms of positioning to get through the pain and provided great physical counter pressure when needed.
After getting to the hospital and recieving pain medication, Raizel kept the birth moving along, providing guidence for positioning to keep the baby moving down and out. This was my second birth and I gave birth just about 9 hours after arriving at the hospital -- in comparison (and first births are often slower) my first birth occurred 48+ hours after arriving at the hospital. I can't help but wonder that if I had Raizel's guidence the first time around, I wouldn't have had as many stalled moments.
Raizel is incredibly empathetic, decisive, and has so much knowledge and experience with birthing -- all of this makes her a spectacular doula. I was definitely looking for a doula who could guide and advocate for me when I was in labor, and Raizel did just this. She provided a positive mindset through the whole birthing experience and made it increadibly empowering for me. I absolutely recommend Raizel as a doula.
