We didn't know Michele very well going into labor; she joined our birth team when our doula got sick. Despite not having worked with her before, Michele was a superhero during our planned home birth. During labor she made me feel like everything was under control and manageable. She provided me exactly what I needed to feel empowered and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Right after the baby came, she was supportive in getting the baby to latch, making sure I was okay, and being an extremely memorable presence during our experience. We didn't really know what to expect from a doula, but could not have asked for more from Michele. Michele's post partum visit was also very helpful. She gave us as much time as we needed to ask her questions and helped us understand and process the labor/delivery. I appreciated this as it helped me solidify the memory in my mind. We are so grateful to have had Michele's support that day.
