I cannot recommend Rachel as a Doula enough. Rachel feels like a warm hug, someone you can instantly connect and feel safe with. The first time we talked to Rachel, we knew she would be an incredible asset to our birth team. We loved that we would get to know Rachel throughout the pregnancy by learning from her through the classes she teaches her clients. Not only did we learn SO much valuable information, but we built a relationship with her throughout the pregnancy through vulnerable discussions and learning together.
The amount of care and time Rachel spends with each of her clients is next level. You can feel how deeply she cares for and wants the best for her clients. When it came time to prepare for birth both my husband and I felt incredibly prepared. Rachel came to our home and walked us through early labor strategies. As my due date approached it was like Rachel had a sixth sense for when I needed a pep talk, which was so helpful in the final days of pregnancy.
When it came time for labor we had complete confidence because of how well Rachel prepared us. Rachel came to our home during labor and helped us decide when to go to the Birth Center. The support she provided in active labor at home was warm, encouraging, and calm. I never felt a sense of panic thanks to her prep and hands-on support.
We ended up unexpectedly transferring to the hospital and despite this not being our plan, Rachel prepared us for this situation. My husband and I were prepared to advocate for ourselves because of the knowledge we gained through working with Rachel. On top of this, Rachel was there for us the entire labor - 23 hours!
Finally, Rachel checked on us following birth and came to our home postpartum. This visit was exactly what I needed to process the birth.
I truly cannot thank Rachel enough. She will be our FIRST call next pregnancy - we cannot imagine our next birth without her.
