This was my second time using The Birth Collective and just as before, I can't imagine pregnancy or giving birth without them! Bree was my doula both times and without her, I think I would STILL be trying to get this baby out a month later. Through pregnancy TBC offered educational support, answering all of my questions with feedback based on both their personal & professional experiences, as well as up to date evidence based information. I am a chiropractor, I see primarily women and children, which leads to caring for many pregnant women. One of the first things I tell them is to hire a doula - and specifically TBC. They are unlike any other & the support they offer is unmatched. I was a week and a half past my due date with my second baby so Bree provided support early on by giving advice on natural ways to get the labor process started. Once labor did start, she was answering all of my messages and keeping track of how quickly things were progressing. Then once she arrived, she helped move things along by giving me effective positions to labor in that helped my contractions be efficient, as well as providing endless counter pressure for pain relief - her arms are probably still sore a month and a half later! My husband and I would've been lost without her - even the second time around. I have now had an empowered hospital birth, as well as a freakin awesome home birth, and I don't think either would've been as successful or possible without Bree and her team! Do yourself a favor and hire TBC - and do it EARLY so you don't miss out on having the best doula team there is. I know too many people who have been wishy washy early on in their pregnancy about whether or not they want to make the investment to hire a doula, but it is worth it 1000x over! If your husband is saying "but wHaT wIlL i Do If YoU hAvE a DoUlA tHeRe?" - your husband hasn't been to 400 births! So let your doula shine while supporting both you and your partner!
