Having Shannon by my side during my labor made all the difference. I had a really long labor, 48 hours, and she did not leave my side.
This was my and my husband's first pregnancy and even though we read a lot and did baby&birth classes we really didn't know what to expect during labor. Having Shannon with us made all the difference for it to be a good experience.
Pain came quite quickly and I couldn't focus on anything other than riding the contractions. Shannon was there all the time supporting me with different laboring positions, she had different accessories that helped, food and water, and counting the contractions and their timing. When time came to call the Midwives and go to the hospital she took the lead on all the process.
As I mentioned, my labor was long and while we were at the hospital, Shannon was there by my side all the time helping me by suggesting different positions to move baby and making sure I had everything I needed.
She is the sweetest and most caring person to have by yourside during labor.
