Lisa changed my life. After having some severe medical trauma prior to my birth, I hired Lisa to be my doula as I wanted to try for an intervention-free and natural birth.
My birth did not go to plan at all, but Lisa was so incredible during my labor, reminding me to breathe, helping calm me down, providing different pain relief exercises, helping me voice my concerns louder, helping my husband advocate for me, and explaining things throughout the process. When I made the decision for an epidural, she was so proud of me for working so hard and there was zero judgement from her.
Unfortunately, my baby’s heart rate started falling after 14 hours of labor and I had to be rushed into an emergency c-section. Lisa was able to be with my husband and pray for me with him while they prepped me and she helped my husband be able to advocate for him being back there with me. I demanded Lisa be let back too, and she was with me, praying over me and talking me through everything as my daughter was delivered and continued for the scary moments until she started breathing until I was stitched up.
I wish I could explain the incredible amount of peace I have about my birth. I hired Lisa for a completely different reason, but God used her in the exact way I needed - to help me feel at peace and have complete clarity in what could have easily been a very traumatic birth experience. When I look back on my birth story, I see one of the most profound and crystal-clear moments of God’s hand in my life through Lisa.
