First and foremost, Lydia is AMAZING! Her breadth of knowledge and very personable manner immediately puts you at ease and makes what can potentially be a stressfull time, much easier.
She is patient, has great recommendations and suggestions for things that will help you in both pregnancy and postpartum stages from resources to actual products, like the belly binder as an example. Additionally, she is well versed in patient advocacy especially around Black Maternal Health disparities and outcomes.
For me personally, I had a potential medical diagnosis that most doula's do not necessarily have the training in, but due to Lydia also having a clinical background, I felt relieved that she was able to provide a level of care that I know would be distinct from others that I might have worked with. Also, because of her clinical background, our conversations around my birth vision and subsequent planning were impressive to my clinical team as well, as they typically don't get that level of clinical detail from their patients.
I cannot recommend Lydia enough and it's been a pleasure having her as my doula.
