Britney was an incredible partner to have with us for the birthing experience. She was very generous with her time and visited us multiple times ahead of labor to talk us through expectations, help us create a birthing plan, and provide gentle but direct reassurance and clearly explained what we could expect. Our labor was "average" - about 27 hours in the hospital! - and Britney was there to help us through the whole thing. Specifically she provided some invaluable services for us including helping us advocate for ourselves to hospital staff (she suggested we ask for the epidural to be redone after still experiencing pain) and performing some helpful pain management stretches and techniques during the labor, which even the nurses were unfamiliar with! Britney provided a calming and helpful presence in the room, giving us space to make the labor experience our own while still providing guidance and reassurance. After our birth Britney followed up multiple times to check in with us and visit to make sure we were doing ok. We now have a happy and thriving 5 month old. Britney will always be a bright spot of our memories of labor and you would be well taken care of to choose Britney as your doula.
