As first-time parents, I think there’s always this question on whether hiring a doula is worth it. I can confidently say my smooth, unmedicated birth was possible because of Camille. While my hospital midwives couldn’t be in the room all throughout labor as they cared for multiple patients, Camille was there from start to finish. She guided me through contractions, suggested position changes at the perfect moments, and kept us reassured every step of the way. She even knew exactly when it was time to push, alerting the staff to prepare to welcome our baby girl and managing to capture beautiful photos of the moment.
Her calm, encouraging presence helped my husband stay grounded and truly support me during labor. She helped him understand what was normal or not especially with this being our first time. After birth, she and her teammate Lianne continued to be invaluable answering questions on breastfeeding, newborn care, and everything in between, even late at night. Camille also helped with overnight shifts, giving us the precious gift of rest during those exhausting early weeks.
