If you can think of all the most desirable qualities of a supportive partner and put those together into one person, that’s Kate. Plus some! She is the best thing to happen to my postpartum journey, and I am so grateful she spent her time caring for us. Kate came alongside and really stepped into my family as a pillar of support during a tough and vulnerable time.
She is not only such an experienced and knowledgeable doula (and SO amazing with babies!), but she is also just one of the best people I’ve ever met. She supports with warmth and compassion, really intuiting what is needed and filling that role seamlessly. Kate is kind, gracious, giving, understanding and patient. She pours her heart into her work, and it’s unmistakably clear how much it means to her. She gives so much of herself to her families: her time, her energy, her wisdom, her resources, her love.
In those first few months after the birth of my son, Kate supported me as I learned how to be a mother, helping to make that transition from woman to mama a little bit less heavy. She mothered me as I mothered my baby, and she carried the weight of my fears and worries until they were light enough and I was strong enough to carry them myself. Kate helped me immensely, and I feel so blessed to have had her support. What a privilege to be on the receiving end of Kate’s care! We are all so much better for it.
