Sarah helped us all find our place in this story.
We come from two different families, connected by one beautiful child. Our paths crossed in a moment that was full of love, loss, hope, and uncertainty. From the beginning, Sarah was the bridge between us, holding space for each of our hearts without ever taking away from the other.
As the birth mom, I was scared and heartbroken, even while knowing I was making the right choice. Sarah saw me. She didn’t treat me like I was “giving up” anything, but like I was giving everything I could out of love. She stayed by my side through every contraction, every tear, every moment I doubted my strength.
As the adoptive parents, we wanted to be present and supportive without overstepping. Sarah helped us understand how to walk that delicate line. She showed us how to offer comfort and respect at the same time, making sure the birth space felt safe and full of care for everyone.
When the baby arrived, Sarah’s love filled the room. She made sure the birth mom’s wishes were honored, and she helped us step into our role as parents with gentleness and gratitude. She tended to both of us, holding hands, offering words of reassurance, and quietly making sure all of our needs were met.
Sarah didn’t just guide a birth. She guided a moment that will forever define all of our lives. She helped us share this experience with grace, dignity, and love. We will always carry her in our hearts for the way she cared for our child, and for all of us.
With love, a birth mom and two grateful parents
