If you’re on the fence on whether or not to work with a doula let alone Jennese - don’t wait- do it- do it now. Bringing a baby home from the hospital is always met with nerves no matter how many times you’ve done it. Most recently I brought home my third baby and having Jennese on night one will truly be the best decision we as a family have made. Night one at home with the new baby was also our first time welcoming and meeting Jennese into our home as well. This situation could have gone differently but I will never forgot the way she entered the room and instantly put my anxiety at ease. She was a natural and fit into place like she had always been there. From day one she has constantly answered my anxiety and uncertainty and met it with calm, evidence based research and personal experience in this field. Jennese picked up tongue ties and reflux before my pediatrician did. I kid you not! She provided me with resources of who to reach out to whether it was baby physical therapy, lactation support or pediatric dentistry. Jennese is there for you in your most vulnerable state. When no one else can truly understand what you’re going through. It could be 3am and you are both up with a fussy baby and she somehow creates a safe and peaceful space. If all of this wasn’t enough I somehow convinced her to stay on ( 9 months later ) to help out here and there. Either that or hold her prisoner :) Continuing post partum care for this long wasn’t on my bingo card but boy are we lucky to have her. That should speak volumes for the level of trust and confidence we hold for her. Hiring Jennese will no doubt be the best thing for you and your new family- this I promise you.
