We had Kim work with us as a postpartum doula for overnights during the first month and a half with our first child. Kim was with us our first night home from the hospital which made the transition SO much less scary for us... especially after recieving such conflicting information from lactation consultants at the hospital! Within the first hour of her time with us, Kim instantly made me feel reassured in the parenting decisions me and my husband were making... specifically that I was not failing at breastfeeding because we were supplementing with formula. She also reassured me that my milk supply would still come in despite the formula supplementation (something one of the hospital lactation consultants had me worried about).
The best advice Kim gave us, which is a testament to her true character, was that a mentally well mother is ultimately what is best for our baby's health. She was absolutely right, especially through my breastfeeding journey, and it was her work that allowed this to happen for us!
As a neurodivergent mother with autism, adhd and ocd I was very nervous about both having a newborn at home and having someone new come into our house during a vulnerable time. Kim was kind hearted, non-judemental, and even helped us find a breastpump, pump parts, cleaning supplies, etc... all her suggestions made me so much less overwhelmed by all the information on baby products. She helped us stay on top of our sterilizing ans cleaning of pump and bottle parts, and she cared for our daughter as if she was her own.
We cannot recommend Kim enough for anyone who is looking for support in the postpartum period!
