My wife and I were so very fortunate to have Junko as our doula on her birth journey. Junko is caring, gental, extremely knowledgable and considerate, and also an extremely talented chef! She is a true professional at her craft: she really takes the time to listen and get to know the expecting mother and father, and weaves together a full array of teachings–whether it be counter-pressure massage measures to be performed by the partner, or preparing soothing balms or tinctures & teas–that best fit both the immediate and longterm needs of the client.
Junko was also invaluable during the first few days and weeks after our son was born, coming at regular intervals in the first several weeks to watch over and help care for him, give us a break when we needed a nap, teach us how to swaddle and use the various wraps and carriers, and prepare delicious and nutritious meals and snacks to assist with my wife's recovery.
When i look back on the period of my wife's pregnancy now, I honestly think that hiring Junko to be our doula was the very best decision we made—more informing and enriching then any course, class, book, or podcast.
I simply cannot recommend Junko enough, and I am deeply thankful to have had her in our lives.
