My husband was initially a bit skeptical about hiring a birth doula — he wasn’t sure what exactly a doula did or how they could help. But I was hoping to have support through an unmedicated birth.
After our in-home meeting with Tatiana, we knew we had made the right choice. She brought so much knowledge and experience to the table and helped us think through many details about our birth preferences that we hadn’t even considered. One of the most reassuring things was that Tatiana was very familiar with Evergreen Hospital and its staff, which helped us feel more confident going into the experience. She gave us insight into what was typically done at that hospital.
When my contractions became more intense, I called Tatiana, and she came over — and her techniques were so calming that my contractions actually started to space out! My late labor actually felt less intense than early labor once Tatiana arrived, which I never thought was possible!
Words truly can't describe how amazing she was. At the hospital, she advocated for my birth plan perfectly — communicating my wishes to the doctor and nurse without me having to say a word. During delivery, her voice was calm and soothing, reminding me how to breathe and keeping me hydrated. After delivery, she didn’t just take care of me — she made sure my husband had food, too! And she even captured some beautiful photos and videos so we could remember one of the best days of our lives.
I was honestly so sad when she left. Tatiana made me feel supported, heard, and completely safe. Thanks to her, I was able to meet my birth goals — something not everyone can say — and I will forever be grateful for that.
If you’re on the fence — don’t be. You will NOT regret hiring Tatiana! She is truly an incredible women to have by your side during birth.
