We had to move from Richmond to Charlotte, NC when I was 35 weeks pregnant, and then I went into early labor the next day--Rachel drove down to Charlotte to be with me and help navigate the stress and uncertainty of having a high-risk birth. She was such a help in when to push back, what to ask for, how to calm down... even a few days after the birth when I was still in the hospital, I called her for advice. With her clinical background, I felt at peace, cared for, and confident that I was making the right choices. So grateful Rachel was my doula!
