We worked with Ali as our postpartum doula for over two months, starting when our baby was around 3 months old. We initially reached out because my husband was having surgery that would limit his ability to hold our baby or help with a lot around the house for a few weeks. However, we found her support so valuable that we asked her to continue to work with us for several more weeks. We were struggling a lot with sleep at that time, our baby was only contact napping and we needed a way to get a break. Ali was so helpful and supportive from the first moment we met her. During the time she was here, Ali held him for naps so I could get a break. She was proactive in identifying ways that she could help me and always made sure I was getting food and water while breastfeeding. She is also so knowledgeable and easy to talk to that she made it easy to ask for help in areas that I was struggling.
Ali is great with babies and I trusted her to handle our baby when he was crying and fussing. But her real strength is her passion for supporting moms and helping them feel less alone and more supported during such a vulnerable time. She was great at helping me cut through all the conflicting messages I was hearing related to caring for a baby and normalizing the things that I found difficult. Even though she helped us at a time that was really tough for me, I feel so positive looking back on our time with her. I would highly recommend working with her!
