My husband and I decided to work with a doula after hearing it would help make pregnancy in the big city (Williamsburg, BK) feel a bit less intimidating. After our first introductory call with Beth (+Christine) we immediately took a deep breath feeling capable, heard, and like we were officially a part of a necessary team. It was very important for me to not only understand the process of childbirth, but to have a say in it and approach it as naturally as possible without medical intervention. Beth was a GIFT to us in that regard, making sure we had a safe space at any hour to rattle off questions, concerns, or bodily occurances. She even made a point to meet us in person prior to the due day so we felt as compfortable as possible. My delivery went as smoothly as possible for being pregnant with a 10lb baby 2 weeks past her due date. Beth made the journey fun (more important than I realized!), gave us the confidence to have patience in the natural process, and the empathy to hear us out in times of panic. I am forever and a day grateful for partnership with Beth and her involvement with our daughters birth. Even in the many weeks after - Beth was and continues to be a safe space for us - welcoming us into BeHeld the PostPartum support group as well as lend an ear and welcomed advice for the challenging feeding journey. 10/10 I am honored to recommend Beth!
