From a father's perspective--especially a new father expecting a first child--Brianna's support as a doula was exceptional and indispensable. Before delivery, she met with us to get to know us. Her personal connection and attention to detail here was tremendously helpful , not just technically in the delivery room, but also in offering tailored advice and emotional support before, during, and after the birth. She was great at educating us on the physiology of labor stages and birth mechanics, so we felt well-informed and confident when the time came. That said, it was a great relief having her there when my wife went into labor, so she could monitor and assess at home, and make the decision when to go to the hospital. This allowed my wife and I to enjoy the moment with each other without anxiety about knowing what to do and when. In the delivery room, she was both calming and attentive, as well as executive and efficient. She helped my wife into various positions for relaxation and movement, and quietly showed family members how to be most helpful. This helped us to better be in the moment, as well as be more help. She worked extremely well with the nurses and doctors, both in giving updates and information as well as helping with logistics and movement. She recognized when the time to push came and went to notify the doctor herself. She was everywhere at once, yet also made sure we had time and space to ourselves. The whole labor and delivery process went smoothly. She was always available for advice throughout the whole process if we ever had questions or concerns come up.
I can't imagine having done without Brianna in the whole process--and can't recommend her highly enough.
