Within moments of meeting Tiffany over Zoom, I knew she was going to be the perfect person to support us during this very transformative time in our life. Tiffany worked with us from around five months of pregnancy and for our hospital birth. I felt so comfortable with her right away because of her warm, caring nature. She has a grounded, maternal energy that is exactly what is needed during such a vulnerable time. During her calls and visits, Tiffany helped both my husband and I parse out what was most important to us. I had a hard time deciding about the epidural and she just had this way of helping me understand my own assumptions around it. Ultimately we landed on a very flexible birth plan and I’m so glad she was there to guide us through those decisions because I’m not sure I would have arrived there on my own. Tiffany also had the perfect balance of eastern and western perspective of pregnancy and birthing, which was important to me. At the end of the day, I think what’s most important about a birthing doula is that you feel at ease with that person, and Tiffany is just one of those people whose presence is so calming. When it came to the big day, my labor sped up really fast and became very intense. She helped my husband and I make the best decision for me in that moment which was ultimately to get the epidural sooner than I had planned. Once I had it administered the three of us hung out for many hours sharing lots of stories and laughs, and at the same time Tiffany recognized the moments to give us space and left the room to get a cup of coffee. In the end, I was lucky to have a relatively smooth and straightforward delivery and a lot of that I feel is because of Tiffany’s preparation and advocacy for me and our baby. I can’t recommend Tiffany enough. She will do everything in her power to make sure you feel seen and heard, and feel cared for and supported.
