This was my second time having Melanie as my doula. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I knew I needed to have Melanie by my side again, but little did I know how different this birth would be. At 35 weeks, we found out my baby was breech. Melanie knew how desperately I wanted to have this baby naturally and she believed in me 100%. She helped guide me through the process of transferring care to a different doctor, giving me techniques/exercises to try to flip the baby, and supporting me emotionally through a very stressful time late in pregnancy. I cannot put into words my appreciation and reverence for what Melanie does. She is so passionate about supporting and empowering mothers and so knowledgeable about pregnancy and birth. She understands labor so well and has a gift of knowing just what you need in that moment to get you through. She created such a calm and peaceful environment, even in a hospital setting, and used pain management techniques and lots of encouragement to get me through. When I wanted to give up, she assured me that I was so close to the end. She was an incredible advocate for my goals and devoted to helping me achieve them. With Melanie by my side, I was able to have a powerful unmedicated birth and deliver my breech baby vaginally. Melanie is truly a blessing to every family she serves and my family is so grateful to have had her love and support bringing both our babies into the world.
