With this being our fourth baby I didn't think I needed a Doula hadn't had one previously up to this point but am I every thankful we did. My previous three labour and deliveries were so fast I assumed that's how this one would go as well. Contractions were getting pretty intense around 11 pm but still lingering around 5 mins apart that went on till about 5 am, when I was starting to panic as at that point in previous labours all my other kids had been born. Sent Kayla a message and she headed right over (this was also our first home birth). The minute she walked into the room a weight was lifted off my shoulders and everything felt calm. She has such a peaceful presence and knows exactly what to say or do in moments of need. I don't know if I can put into words how incredibly grateful I am for her being there to support me during this labour. If this is your first or third or fourth birth and your debating on hiring a doula don't second guess it just do it. Kayla provided absolute phenomenonal support and care I cannot recommend her enough.
