We are SO incredibly grateful to have had Katharine by our side as our birth doula for the arrival of our first baby in April 2025 at Kaiser Sunset. We got connected to Katharine through Village Birth in Pasadena, and knew from the moment we had our intro call, that she would be the perfect birth doula for us. Her warmth and compassion, sturdy leadership and coaching, and extensive teaching background / career in education before becoming a doula (and IBCLC), were key aspects that made my pregnancy and birthing experience felt truly supported and prepared. We chose a hospital birth to have access to medical support (if needed), but I was was hoping to have few (if any) interventions for the labor and delivery experience. Knowing that I wanted to deliver unmedicated, Katharine educated us with practical guidance/tips/strategies for delivering unmedicated, as well as recommended inner work we could do to prepare for the journey ahead. On the night of the birth, Katharine's presence, advocacy, and support, helped me stay centered and focused as I successfully gave birth naturally and without an epidural. She stayed by my side the entire night (and even zoomed me up to L&D in a wheelchair as my husband parked the car!) Neither my husband nor I can imagine how different the experience would have been without Katharine there with us. She stayed with us as the doctors finished stitching, helped me with our daughter's first latch, and continued to check in on us postpartum (in person and via texts) even months down the line. If you're searching for a birth doula that will honor your unique experiences and safely guide you through the entire journey, I cannot recommend Katharine enough. She was the best and easiest decision we made throughout my entire pregnancy. So thankful.
