From the first phone call, I knew Jenn was going to be so helpful to me. I told her about how my previous birth experience ended in c section after trying so hard to have my baby naturally. And that this time, I was determined to have the unmedicated birth I had dreamed of. She was so supportive and said many times "we are going to get you this VBAC, you can do this". Everytime i talked to her she reminded me of how strong I was and gave me so much confidence. I went into labor feeling so prepared, thanks to Jenn.
Once the day came, Jenn was right there with me from the beginning. She answered my call in the middle of the night to help me decide if it was time to go to the hospital. She then communicated with me for updates until it was time for her to come in. I did my best to create a calm, cozy environment in the hospital and Jenn fit right into that. It was like hanging out with an old friend, even though I was in labor! She came with tips and tricks to help keep my contractions strong and consistent and I successfully avoided pitocin like I had planned. Half way though I got tired. Jenn suggested I lay in the bed and she rubbed my feet for at least an hour, using pressure points to keep the contractions coming. I was in labor but felt like I was having a spa day. She reminded me of other tools I could utilize like the shower, the yoga ball, and the peanut ball. She helped me to stay calm and relaxed, and breathe through the contractions with ease. She also helped my partner to support me by telling him I needed him, at times when I couldn't speak.
She coached me through pushing and helped me find my strength. In the end, I was successful in birthing my precious baby girl completely unmedicated like I had planned. I felt like super woman. I will forever be grateful to her for helping me achieve my goal, and I cannot recommend her enough.
