This was our second time having Kimberly as our doula, and we can’t imagine going through birth without her! After a medically necessary induction and preeclampsia with our first, I wanted a different experience the second time around and Kimberly helped make that possible.
Leading up to birth, she guided me through Body Ready Method sessions that helped strengthen and prepare my body, and encouraged me to focus on nutrition and movement. Thanks to her suggestion, I followed the Brewer’s Diet in hopes of avoiding preeclampsia and it was a success and big win!
Kimberly is incredibly knowledgeable and calm, and helped us feel empowered every step of the way. She refreshed us on natural birth techniques, helped us craft a birth plan I felt great about, and reminded me of my own strength and intuition.
My second birth was fast. After initially asking Kimberly to meet us at our home, I realized labor was moving quickly and asked her to meet us at the hospital instead. She got there before us (thank God) and was able to check me in ahead of time, which was perfect because I ended up giving birth just 13 minutes after arriving at triage. Kimberly jumped into support mode instantly and protected my peaceful, unmedicated birth. (She even intervened when a doctor tried to break my water unnecessarily just for convenience!)
Since our birth was so quick, Kimberly was able to stay with us longer so my husband and I could rest and recover. That kind of above-and-beyond care is just who she is.
I am so proud of how this birth went and can't imagine what it would have looked like without Kimberly. I felt prepared, powerful, and in control. If you’re considering the world's best doula, especially one who genuinely cares, educates, and advocates, Kimberly is the one. We love her and are forever grateful for her. <3
