When my husband and I first read these reviews, we thought surely folks were exaggerating. But nope, everything you read here is true: Melanie is the best doula ever, and planning your pregnancies around her availability is a good idea. I really wish I would have known her for my first birth, when we had a doula also and gave birth at the Atlanta Birth Center, but with Melanie it was so much better.
My second birth was a super empowered one at the Atlanta Birth Center, and Melanie was KEY in making this happen. I’m so thankful, I want to write her a love letter instead of a review. But I’ll try to list the things I noticed Melanie is great at: she’s extremely knowledgeable and a dynamic educator, she’s got tons of stamina and patience, she can follow your energy and preferences and still guide and lead you, she’s an amazing advocate with the provider, her luggage has all kinds of tools, and she pours all kinds of love into her work and unto you: kindness, tough love, humor, music. We were SO lucky to find her, what a wonderful support to have!
PS – Melanie was also extremely helpful during pregnancy and postpartum. Hiring her is the best investment you can make!
