That moment of pause revealed that it was more about logistics than my actual needs — and sure enough, labor picked up naturally shortly after. Without you, I might not have had the strength to advocate for myself in that moment.
To anyone considering a doula, my advice is simple: do it. It’s an investment not just in your birth, but in your sense of agency, support, and peace. My birth was a 10/10 experience.
