Where to start! :-)
When we found out we were pregnant with our baby girl, I knew that I wanted a doula that could provide support for myself and my husband. She not only helped to provide us with advice on birth plan options that fit our goals, but she has been incredibly responsive and attentive via phone and text whenever I had questions, concerns or comments regarding pregnancy and leading up to birth.
I feel so blessed to say that while my birth didn't go according to plan, it was an amazing experience! I ended up needing to be induced and LeNay was there for us as I needed to cry and mourn the change in plans. She then stayed in contact with me throughout the entire induction process, providing movement suggestions, medical insight and advice for talking with the hospital staff. When she met us at the hospital, it was like a breath of fresh air. LeNay was supportive, advocated for us, and made me feel empowered! Throughout some ups and downs that were unexpected during labor, she helped me understand why certain procedures were necessary, helped me understand my options, and provided comfort.
When I could no longer move the baby down on my own with movement due to an epidural, she worked with the staff to help put my body in positions that would ultimately help the baby down and into a good birthing position! I was ultimately able to push and have a vaginal birth per my birth plan thanks to her assistance, motivation and support. Ultimately, at the end of the day, I feel so proud of our birth story! She provided my husband and I with so much kindness and support. She feels like part of the family and a blessing. LeNay made our birthing experience a magical and memorable one and we will definitely be using her services for future babies. :-)
