I can not reccomend Riva highly enough, if you are having a baby she is the woman you want at your side through the experience. Riva is an angel, I literally don't know if I could have done it without her. She is extremely knowledgeable, attentive and compassionate. I immediately felt comfortable and excited to work with her. We met up a few times before my birth and discussed extensively my goals, worries, thoughts and anything else I could possibly ask about! We would also text regularly to check in about upcoming Dr visits and if I ever needed reccomedations, she is responsive and again so knowledgeable! I was told my baby would be small for gestational age around 35 weeks and became very anxious about that that would mean for my birth. Riva was readily available to talk with me about any concerns I had, helped me through feeling so worried not only about the safety of my growing baby but also my concerns over feeling like my birth experience was being taken from me. She regularly reassured me I was still in control of everything and was able to help me feel confident to voice my concerns and my wants with my midwife. My induction day came and she was there with us through it all. We spent the evening working on many positions to get baby to drop down and eventually my water broke naturally! She guided me with positivity, compassion and made me feel strong and confident. I had a 30 hour labor and she was there guiding me through it all. It was not the experience I had originally planned for but Riva made it so positive. She also visited with us at home post delivery, helped coach me through latching and positions for breast feeding. Helped us to calm any concerns we were having as very new parents and just made us feel confident we are doing amazing. I am so beyond thankful for her help and highly, highly reccomend her doula services. She is truly an amazing human who is doing so much good I feel lucky to have found her!
