Caroline was our birth doula for our baby girl, and I can't recommend her enough. I've already referred all my pregnant friends to her. I felt supported by her the moment that we had our initial consultation. I knew that she was the perfect support that I needed. I felt like I could tell her all of my fears that I had about birth. When I was in labor, Caroline was so accessible and answered all of my questions. I was never left wondering, which is something that took a lot of my anxiety away. She joined me at my apartment and she helped me for hours through painful contractions. At the hospital, the nurse kept trying to push pitocin on me a few times, but I really didn't want that. Caroline asked her if we could have more time to see what happened naturally, and sure enough, I never needed pitocin and had a vaginal birth without it. I'm not good at communicating with doctors, and Caroline was right in my corner the whole time asking questions to them and giving me space to ask my own questions to the doctors. I'm so relieved that I had someone there to help me ask for more time because I usually just go along with doctor recommendations. I'm proud of my body for doing what felt like the impossible, and I have Caroline to thank for that. My husband and I are so grateful for her support, and I don't think we could've gone through this journey without her.
