My husband and I have different backgrounds which are also different from what unites us here in the US. Thinking about birth and the amount of support beyond doctors and nurses that our mothers rely upon in our countries, we never expected to have anything like this here in US especially with our families being very far. But in God’s providence, we were blessed by Shana, our Doula, who single-handedly provided that support that our mothers always relied upon. Shana took an amazing care of me and my baby. She encouraged me and stood by me the whole time through labor and made the doctors and nurses job way easier. Her thoughtfulness, joy and kindness made my labor smooth. She knew what I needed and made sure I received it every time and even helped my husband to feel more at peace in his role also knowing that I was in great hands.
