My husband and I can't recommend Shannon enough! We hired her for the home birth of our first baby, and felt such support from her throughout the entire process. We appreciated how she started with initial conversations to make sure she was the right fit for us and vice versa, and encouraged us to think through and clearly communicate our wishes and needs up front so we could feel as prepared as possible. She helped give us confidence to get through first-time-parent jitters about doing a home birth, and was an excellent resource for reading material, supplies, and natural remedies to support a healthy pregnancy and birth. Also, she makes sacrifices and does all in her power to ensure she'll be available when the baby is due, and educates the parents on contingency plans if something unavoidable comes up.
During labor and delivery it was pretty obvious she's done this once or twice (or hundreds) of times:). She was an extremely calming presence and seamlessly jumped in to help our midwife when I started having some issues right after our daughter was born. I believe she was one of the reasons I was able to stay in my own bed [calmly] and not be transferred to the hospital. Afterwards my husband commented how peaceful the whole process had felt. We felt God's hand in guiding us to Shannon and are so thankful she was recommended to us!
