This is long overdue, a year overdue in fact, but I could never put the words together that felt adequate for my gratefulness. Mel was truly the doula of my dreams. From our very first conversation, they brought a sense of calm, confidence, and care that never wavered. They supported not just me, but my husband, and our 3-year-old, with such thoughtfulness that it felt like they were holding my whole family through the experience. Mel listened closely to how my previous birth went and really understood what I needed this time, then followed through beautifully. They are one of the most quietly-steady people I have ever met. Always there, always fully with me in every moment. Mel has a gift for this work. I admire so much that they are always learning, always growing, and so deeply committed to showing up for each, very individual, client. I’m endlessly grateful to you Mel.
