Chelsey was an incredible source of strength and support throughout our birth journey. During pregnancy, she helped prepare us with informative classes and resources, but it was during labor that her presence truly shined.
When labor came on fast and intense, she arrived at our home and immediately stepped into action- coaching me through contractions, providing counter pressure, helping me move from bath to toilet to floor to bed, and supporting my husband every step of the way. She held a trashcan for me as I threw up all over her (multiple times!) and still somehow made me feel strong, beautiful, and empowered, even in my most vulnerable moments. I truly marvel at my birth story because of her.
When we made the decision to transfer to the hospital, Chelsey never left my side. Once we learned our baby had turned sunny-side up, which was likely stalling progress, she jumped into action with Spinning Babies techniques and the Miles Circuit, helping him rotate into position and get things moving again. Even the hospital staff was impressed.
Every time a doctor came in with a new milestone or deadline before recommending a C-section, Chelsey grounded me and helped me push forward. Thanks to her unwavering support, encouragement, and love, I was able to stay empowered and work hard to birth the way I hoped to, even in the hospital. At 5:29 p.m., I delivered our sweet boy, Eli Thomas, vaginally.
