Testimonial for Jet City Doulas
The power trio of Mariah, Katie, and Jen that make up Jet City Doulas (JCD) are a group of extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and down-to-earth doulas who we were so privileged to work with during our journey. We are first-time parents who went from not knowing what the word ‘doula’ meant to now shouting from the rooftops that everyone should work with these three.
JCD offered an incredible level of support including classes, 1:1 sessions, lactation consultations, abundant resources for every question related to the process (we had many from the birthing parent and partner!) and were always a text/call away. But what stood out the most was their uncompromising and fierce passion, advocacy and care for their clients, work, and each other – we picked this up right from an introductory chat. We knew right from the beginning and even now postpartum that we had not one, but a team of three in our corner no matter how the journey ensued. We couldn’t recommend the team enough – these three doulas communicate seamlessly (in fact, they can and do fill each other’s sentences) and the perk of having three doulas with three additional specialties, approaches, and perspectives was a unique and definite advantage.
Emily gave birth at UW Northwest and Mariah attended the birth. I could not be more grateful that Mariah figuratively and literally held my hand all the way through. The seamless care and collaboration between Mariah and the many folks at UW Northwest during labor and delivery allowed us to feel confident throughout the whole process – in fact, we all even managed to have some bantering and laughs (between contractions, of course).
Overall, we had a very positive birth experience, but it was the collaborative experience with JCD that made (and continues to) the journey an empowering and memorable one and we look forward to keeping in touch. We highly and wholeheartedly recommend JCD.
