I found Bethany through a local women's Facebook group. After chatting with her on the phone for the first time, I knew she would be a great fit for my birth not only because she's the absolute sweetest but also because we share the same faith, values, and goals. Our birth went very differently and faster than expected, but Bethany was there when we needed her most and I couldn't be more grateful. My husband knew she was a good fit for us after meeting her during the first in-home visit. From helping us navigate a breech baby, major change in birth plan, and being at my side while my husband caught our baby to helping us get settled into our room at the hospital (very different from our planned home birth), Bethany went above and beyond. She checked in frequently and made sure we were all okay after the birth.
Even after all this, when we already knew we loved working with Bethany, it was actually her in-home postpartum that just sealed the deal: she spent undistracted, intentional time with us and listened with compassion as she asked about my postpartum experience and our entrance into parenthood. I finally figured out why I liked her so much: she's like having your closest sister walk by your side through it all. (My husband even agreed!)
If you're on the fence about a doula or searching for one, I cannot recommend Bethany enough!
