I always wanted to be a mom. I left my Country and started all over again in New York. In the turnover of starting again, we kept postponing havind a child and somehow at my 44 years my child decided that it was enough time and came to be part of this beautiful family. I was training for the NY Marathon, so I guess that training helped me to be in the best shape of my life and help me too to conceive. Being pregnant is scary, specially in a diferent country with a diferente language. Everything is intimidating and this is when we meet Shamika. She was the angel that God sent to stand with us and have an amazing and safe delivery. Since we have our 1st meeting we knew she would be our guardian angel and yes she was!!. Her organization, experience, tenacity and strength, was what we needed.
She planned every step and showed us possible scenarios for us to take decision depending on what might happen. On my due date she was there with her reassurance and lavender to calm my soul. She asked questions to the nurse that I wouldn't imagine, she checked equipment, checked on my husband, checked constantly on me! She didn't allowed unnecessary procedures and was always explaining me other options if I didn't feel comfortable with the one given. She was ON MY TEAM and finding someone like that who stand for your rights and your dreams is unvaluable.
She helped us bring the love of our life to this world and in the way she became part of our family. I will be eternally grateful for her love and support. Shamika, thank you so very much with all our hearts!
