My husband and I feel incredibly fortunate to have had Sonja as our birth doula. From our very first meeting, we felt completely at ease and confident in her knowledge, experience, and calming presence. We had worked with another doula before meeting Sonja, and the contrast was immediate. After our initial phone call with her, I was so overwhelmed with relief and gratitude that I cried — I truly felt seen, heard, and understood.
When I went into labor, Sonja checked in with us regularly and came over as soon as we felt ready for extra support. Her presence was exactly what we needed — gentle, intuitive, and empowering. She skillfully guided me through various labor techniques and used different props to help progress my labor. What stood out most was her ability to read the room: she knew when to give me space and when to step in with encouragement or hands-on help.
Sonja was also amazing at supporting my husband in his role. In his words, "She allowed me to be the best possible support for you." That meant the world to both of us.
We are beyond grateful to have had Sonja by our side during such an important moment in our lives. Without a doubt, we would choose her again for any future births.
