Rebecca is an absolutely incredible doula, and hiring her was without-a-doubt the best decision I made for my pregnancy. She was on a list of recommended doulas that my midwives gave me. I contacted a few to interview (including Rebecca) to find the right personality fit, and I knew right away that she was the right person for me. I felt an instantaneous connection with her. She is such an incredibly kind, caring, warm, and intuitive person, and she helped me navigate so many questions, decisions, and feelings that I had during my pregnancy and my birth. Rebecca really helped bridge the knowledge gap and personal connection that I felt like I was unfortunately missing from my midwives—including her very thorough walk-through of the birthing process and what to expect, meeting with us a few times in person to establish a personal relationship, to her nurturing and powerful care the day-of.
I knew I wanted an unmedicated birth, and also a birth without IV port (that's a very unpopular choice in the hospital space), Rebecca was so supportive and encouraging of my decisions and gave me and my husband so much guidance during the entire process.
I had a long labor (a little over 24 hours), and did much of it at home. When we called her to come to my house, she was such an empowering and nurturing presence. She has a powerful strength; she made me feel safe and capable in one of life's most vulnerable moments. It's hard to articulate all the ways that she supports you. It's emotional, it's physical, and it's deeply personal. With Rebecca as my doula, I felt listened to. I felt calm. I felt strong. I felt like she was meeting me where I was, and that she was supporting me in ways that she understood that I, as an individual, needed. We can't imagine what we would have done without her!
