We hired Sofia to support us for the birth of our second son and were beyond happy with her services. Sofia met with us twice before I went into labor to go over our goals, pain relieving techniques, and the phases of labor. Once in labor, she met us at the hospital - I was not admitted initially because labor was early so in a somewhat hilarious turn of events, we went to the grocery store nearby to get some snacks and allow labor to progress. Sofia was such a support, encouraging me to walk and lunge in the store, which helped labor progress rapidly. An hour later we were at the hospital in active labor. Sofia was brilliant at encouraging different positions, use of the tub, and breathing/vocalizations to help me manage my pain all while supporting my husband to help me. They made a great team together. She went above and beyond, often putting herself in uncomfortable physical positions to support me through my pain. I’m so grateful for Sofia. She helped us achieve exactly the experience we were hoping for. After the baby was born she visited me to see how things were going and continues to be supportive. Sofia is empathetic, intuitive, and assertive - perfect doula qualities if you ask me!
