When we started our daytime doula search, we didn't really know where to start. We knew generally what we were looking for, but it didn't quite hit us until we met Meredith. We loved her positive attitude and the reasons why she became a doula, so we knew she would be a great fit. Meredith went above and beyond the call of duty. I had been preparing since my 20-week scan for a two-week long stay in the hospital before my scheduled c-section and didn't know what to expect when it came to my physical and mental health postpartum. When I got home, I was extremely fragile in both respects. Meredith was instrumental in helping me transition into motherhood, especially while I was healing from my c-section and the long hospital stay. She knew my needs before I knew them, honestly. Ready with a sandwich (which was delicious btw!), ensuring the kitchen was clean, laundry done, baby fed etc. Meredith's other incredible characteristic is her ability to advocate for her clients. I had a difficult time breastfeeding and had different lactation consultants come in to assess my situation. It felt draining. Meredith was there every step of the way and made me feel like everything was going to be okay, regardless of the outcome in my feeding journey. That's not an easy thing to do. Her emotional IQ is off the charts -- and you need that postpartum. I think anyone who meets Meredith can see what a shining light she is and we're very lucky our little Noelle was cared for by her!
