I hired Katelyn to support the birth of my second child in April 2025, and my experience with her was wonderful. She was an incredible intermediary between the hospital staff and us throughout the process.
I began looking for a doula late in pregnancy in case my husband needed to stay home with our older child. We had only one prenatal visit before I went into labor two days later, but Katelyn made sure to understand my medical history, birth preferences, and ways to ease my discomfort. She helped me prepare for my final OBGYN visit by suggesting questions, one of which led to an ultrasound that revealed my baby was sideways. Since I was trying for a VBAC after a C-section caused by poor baby positioning, this was crucial. She also gave me exercises to help improve the baby’s position.
At the hospital, Katelyn was a strong advocate. She kept track of my contractions, explained everything happening around me, and gave context for decisions like whether to use Pitocin. I always felt informed and supported. When it came time to push, she was right there encouraging me and even helped the staff when needed. The nurses and midwives spoke highly of her.
She also visited postpartum to offer guidance on healing, breastfeeding, and newborn care. I felt fully supported even after delivery.
I’m incredibly grateful to have had Katelyn by my side. She made a stressful experience smoother and more empowering. I would absolutely work with her again and highly recommend her to others.
