I had my first baby this February, and hiring Brighid as a postpartum doula is maybe the best choice I've made in terms of seeking support. At the end of our first session together, I couldn't believe how much we'd gotten done - the baby was happy, the kitchen was clean, she'd run an errand for me, and dinner was ready! As our sessions went on I got to experience Brighid's range of offerings. First, she is BRILLIANT with newborns - so incredibly informed and full of knowledge. I learned so much from her, and she answered my many questions in really thoughtful ways. She was also incredibly emotionally attuned to my baby's needs as well as the needs of the overall household. I got to process something painful about my birth experience with her, and it was like working with a skilled therapist. (Plus she gives amazing foot massages!) Brighid's depth is truly what makes her special, but she also helped me so much with mundane tasks, and would anticipate small things without me even needing to delegate. I feel like having Brighid for the first few weeks of my daughter's life really set us all up for success. I'm still thinking about what a blessing she was a few months later. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.
