A doula is such a valuable resource for pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. Barbie is amazing! For my second child I knew I wanted to do things differently, within my control. I had Barbie for my first birth which was an induction due to high blood pressure. With my second pregnancy Barbie helped me manage my bp for appts and relax. I give her full credit because of her I got my dream birth!
The day before I gave birth I had a high blood pressure reading at the hospital and needed an NST. Everything looked good so they allowed me to leave and come back tomorrow for a scheduled induction. To my surprise, that morning I went into labor naturally! I texted Barbie the whole time about my contractions, mucus plug, and how to know when to go to the hospital.
When we arrived at the hospital I received more surprising news that I was progressing more than I thought and my husband texted Barbie to come to the hospital.
I got the epidural and things went soooo smoothly. Barbie made sure I was hydrated, in good positions for baby, and helped me push baby out into the world!
Barbie is also great for postpartum care, she's such a great soul and I consider her a friend now too. Her presence puts me at ease and even though we don't want anymore children I wouldn't mind so that I can have her by my side once again!
